Yay so she is ready to be put back into use since i have a ton of bobbins wound for her already. I want to finish that runner

Something about a soft yellow fabric

so easy to look at

A likeable quilt that shows off the colors

I will have a hard time giving this one away and I am not a yellow or bright person at all.

I meant i like cool colors like  greens blues purples not reds yellows and oranges

But I love this one too

 I love all the inspirational ones I saw online

White backgrounds, dark backgrounds, pastelly beads, bright beads etc. 

I love how this cleaned up a ton of scraps

This fell out of line when i needed more lights for the backgrounds

Another problem that reoccurs for me.

I have a ton more cut minus white or off white backgrounds 

Note to self.......order more lights not just pretty colors

A temecula quiltalong that I surprisingly kept up with

Now i need to yep you guessed look for the  border fabrics and cut and sew

Then back and quilt. Hoping i have enough of the backing I used for hers. It matched perfectly....

And this one too was fun

Love using up scraps and pairing with solids  for a modern look

I find i used to be a matchy matchy kind of quilter.

Now i find because of exuberant color and participants of rsc i am using more colors and combos 

Growing in my quilting

Will he go round in circles....will he fly high like a bird up in the sky

Omg this circle quilt was one I was gung ho on a couple years ago. It is a pick a fabric a day that reflects your mood or the day

I forget what blog had it but every day I would cut a circle of fabric and stitch it to a background that coincided with rsc color of the month. A two fer if you will.

I love this quilt but didnt do the math when I started it

I would need to do half the year on the front and half on the back

And it still would be huge.

So once i realized......it sat

Here is jan feb and march i believe and the circles i put in the correct day of the week too

The filler blocks have no circles.

I believe it is around 70 inches long as is

And there are other circles in rows and some cut or appliqued etc.

Gotta make a decision and finish it

This was a challenge

Jacky and I were making a coin quilt

I liked mine with 2 border fabs and neither one of us finished our quilt

I took colorways of charms.

i had a ton

Cut each charm into a 2.5x5. And sewed rows of the colors 

It used a lot of charms and went quickly

Once i border and quilt it will become a cute quilt for the couch

What projects are in your closets?

Will they be coming out this year?

Or just stay on the list 

This one i swear is in more than one container. I keep seeing these

I love to slab away the day

Not caring about anything except sewing two pieces together

These kind of quilts grow fast at least with my stash

I made this quilt say green by bordering the multicolor blocks in green sashing

Funny how that happens

I may make another one and sash in red or blue

Orange might be fun too

So many quilts to finish up

Dunkin was measuring the length for me

I think we are good that way

So then i switched out my machine that is acting up for the one i got from an old boss

And played with this. 

Remember our little slab trade?

I made mine into stars and unified them with blues

I started hand quilting but my eyes wont cooperate

So i grabbed it and just organically quilted it

It is a long runner 

And really cute.but why is it when you are on the homestretch you run out of bobbin

I have one star to go

I love it so far but my brain didnt want to figure out the bobbin on this machine after 2 hrs sewing.

Another day.....and i will need to get extra bobbins.of course they are not the same as the 20 i wound for the other machine.

Feels good to sew though.

I have to measure the deer quilt and the backing and see if i still have work to do or not

This little outfit I found for 2.50. My boss got a new teeny tiny dog and said she was looking for a tutu. If she doesnt use it no big deal right? I thought it was cute. Dunkin said no to modeling it for you. Ha ha

I am dreaming of all the finishes I need to do. This baby quilt needs to be done. A very modern one that I think the nieces would like if any decide to surprise us with an announcement. 

It needs a back and to be quilted

This guy just needs more play in the blue 

bin to make about 5 more blocks

Then quilt it up is all it needs

Yesterday was supposed to be my eye surgery

the oil gland that was lanced was still raw red

While I was napping waiting for the eye to undilate If that is a word

These beautiful flowers arrived from a friend.

She knows who she is and she absolutely made my day.

I love her and am very thankful for her friendship

Hubs laughs at me

If i need 3 things at the store i list them

So i wont forget

I said no I AM BAD and get distracted

Anyway i decided to make a chart listing some ufos and where they are at

Then i can see where i stop and examine why

Seems like they stop at the quilting

Also seems i start way too many things

I wont even show you how many pages i have listed

I will let you imagine

Time to do a finish it up year

Have you ever really thought about why we have ufos

Or why quilting as a hobby turns us into hoarders

Hoarders of fabrics and tools and patterns

For later 

Later is now.

It seems we are in 2 camps 

The ones who project hop and leave ufos in their dust

And ones who have to finish a project before moving on

Never have more than one going

(KNOW ANYONE LIKE THAT? ME EITHER)

Its like an inner drive to make everything 

You see and like

A drive to have a bucket  list of quilts to make

Silly how our hobby does that

Do other hobbies do that?

Do painters have half finished paintings and turn them into something other  than the original idea?

Do they switch out color midstream?

Inquiring minds wanna know......

These are from my 2.5 scraps which is full

Again so I may be able to get more to make a small childs quilt

I can also sash with something to make it bigger

These were in there too

They are 1.5 squares sewn in 9 patches

The funny part is what was my idea of what i was making?????

So now if it comes to the top of the list 

I will make a decision and go with it

Will it be strips?

Some old pictures

This was me and a great uncle back when i was a kid

The barn behind us held race horses that my uncle owned and raced

Here is one of our ponies named Whiskey

He had one blue eye and one brown eye

And was smart

My dad trained him to get his front legs on a chair and then lift one

This was my brother, sister and 2 cousins when they were building my Dads house

What kid can resist a good sandpile?

We had fun on the farm

No cell phones

Gram and sis dressed up with things we had for a Halloween party in the greenhouse 

Its warm 

Has lots of room

And if you needed to clean tomorrow you shut the door and come back
