On the eye front...

No surgery yet again

This eye is really protesting

He thinks that it is some kind of growth on my eyelid that he wants to remove first and then heal up before other surgery

Oy vey.....so hes not even sure if hot compresses will work

What????

All my sewing time lately has been eye time instead

Hoping to get this resolved so i can get on with life

Anvil

Does anyone else have this old perpetual quilt block calendar?

I love mine and use it for inspiration 

I flipped to Feb 22 and anvil was the block 

Pretty easy

I think.......

I hurriedly cut out some blue and background and sewed one up

Just needs pressing and trimming 

This will go in my challenge block project

I think i will make blue blocks then make them larger

To finish off Olafs border

Not a bad idea huh?

So far a productive year 2 months in

So far I have for the most part kept to my goals for the year 

1 finish a ufo

2 finish a yarn ufo

3 move something further along 

Jan had me finishing this project for me

Er um I guess for Dunkin

It was a me project so went to  the back of the line 

Another finish in feb

Another me project that went to the back of the line 

These were a jan ufo finished and delivered in feb

A diversion thank you finish

Along with the bag

So cute that kitty fabric.

Wish i had more

It was literally a strip 2.5 wide by about 18 and all used in this project

This got moved further along with a little help from my friends

Dunkin saw my new book and decided he too wants to improve his assistant skills.

Yep.....i think he is gonna be an even better assistant now

He used to rearrange my blocks because I dont make the quilt exactly like the pattern

Maybe now he will see my vision.

Chandelier shaking

My chandelier was shaking

Or was that me shaking the earth because I love love love this so far

Since I had finished my gifts and I now have light fabrics

(THANKS JULIEROSE)

I decided to cut them up for the blocks i have ready to sew

I think I had almost 20 to do

So I cut 2 inch strips then subcut into my sizes

And sewed them chain pieced style

Did you hear my Pfaff humming along?

I love quilts like that

Chain away without a care

Making a huge stack of blocks lickity split 

I couldnt resist setting them out to show Dunkin

Hey at 4am he was the only one up...ha ha

I think he liked them

I know I do.....

Now I need to paw thru my 3.5 squares and see if i can find matching 2 inch squares

If not.......i can certainly cut groups of them from scraps

My 3 inch squares are kinda low

Strips are overflowing 

Better make more string blocks 

My 2.5 is pretty full too

Remember the wedding last Fall of my niece?

This is my favorite picture of them 

I took advantage of the fact that at this time the places that turn photos into gifts are not busy and they have deep discounts

I had this done on a sherpa blanket for them for Christmas  for less than half price

Yes you heard that right

I received it in the mail and it is pretty

I am pleased and now officially have 2 people done for Christmas this year

Block challenge

The first challenge I did was partial seams and i was proud it came out nice and flat 

Soooo the next challenge was to make a change in a block

I decided on Aunt Dinah block in moda blockheads book

Someones in the kitchen with Dinah alright and he was playing on the ole banjo

His name is the devil

LOL

I made an error.how is that possible?

i was purposely making an error and made a different one that has to be ripped out

Ughhhh

AND MADE IT FOUR TIMES CAUSE I CHAIN STITCHED THEM

did you hear me say bad words?

Yeah I am sorry....

I will go in time out

I fixed them and continued on my way making the block

What?

Sewed the wrong side of the row on the bottom

Should have just made the darned block normal

More bad words (cover your ears as the bad words are getting badder...more bad?)

I think the fabric I used in the outer triangles is contributing to my dislike
