Quilt show part 1

Jacky and I woke up emailing each other about the show. What time do we want to go
What to wear
How much do we want to spend.
We were jumping up and down waiting for the clock to change to 10.
The show is just 5 min down the street

We were first in the door and treated like royalty
Everyone liked my Jenny tee stating to take a look at the quilt behind me lol

There were some beautiful quilts

Some plain but gorgeous quilting

It was hard to vote in the 5 categories

I mean look at this talent

These were classes they took

More eye candy to come this week

We had a great time

Quilt show today.......whoot whoot

No not here. Jacky and I will go to the quiltshow that is literally up the street from us. Fun fun cant wait. Pics soon

These are the latest two mugrug finishes

My funky pineapple one

I am thinking that this one will hang on my wall in the sewing room

Pedal to the metal sewing of 2.5 squares netted another table topper

I was driving the other day and noticed my inspection sticker expired the end of Sept.
YIKES

so yesterday after work I rushed down to get one

While there i saw this adorable car.i want it.
Isnt it the cutest? Not safe with the big cars on the road but what a cutie.
I can see me and Jacky in it now...

Yes dahling just ship all that fabric and batting to the house. It won't fit in the car
LOL

Last year when i got my sticker he had a gorgeous 57 chevy......

He also had a camper he was trying to sell to me. Lol

Wonder what he will have next year......

Fabulous free Fridays

Last week was a bust.
Nobody cooks anymore I guess so no freebie will go out.
I figure I will try a fun tutorial instead.

An easy button on towel project.

Grab a flat potholder, a towel and a button that fits in the  potholder loop

I was lucky enough to find a set of 2 potholders and got 2 towels for 2 sets

Some people cut the towel in half
I dont.

Fold the towel in half lengthwise just like you would put it on your stove.

Mark with pins or clips for the center

Then widthwise gather it to the size of your potholder. Mark it with clips or pins

Find the center of your potholder folding the button loop side from top to bottom.
This is how it will attach to your stove

Sew on the center line thru the potholder and towel attaching them together
They will be right sides together if that makes sense

Fold the potholder like you would to put it on the stove and attach button.

A cute and easy and useful project

And yes if you find plain towels they can add to your runner to make a kitchen set

Dont overlook funky colors
Teal or sage can go with holiday prints on your runner.
Take advantage of sales and what stores consider off season
(THEY are busy with browns and oranges right now so you may be able to score some teal or blue or gray for a great price)

Micro bowls or sets
Runners
Napkins
Placemats
Towel for fridge or stove

Nice gift ideas if you think themes

You're welcome

This weekend is quilt show so come back for some fun quilt pictures...

Foxes almost done

I cut and sewed this little cutie

The hardest part so far has been finding the right orange fox color
I cut my pieces longer so i can trim up later and i added side pieces of background so I can get the size i want

I think they will finish around 8x9
A  good size mugrug
Look at your fav block sizes in a different way

I love this fox as a mugrug
Soooooo cute

Some binding is almost ready to finish them up too
Soon my pretties....

A fun little project

Who out there is making gifts for Christmas?
Raise Your hands

I see.....how many of you run out of ideas?
Uh huh......yep

How about a cute table runner?

Grab some Christmas fabric and lets go.
I used up some 5 inch charms I had
And cut them down to 2.5 squares

My fav size to play with
I sewed rows of 6 of them together
Twelve rows to be exact
Then found fabric in my stash that coordinated and cut two end squares

Sew them up and voila

A table runner top is born

See how cute and fun?

If you have a container of 2.5 squares like I do, You could have fun pulling reds and greens

Or how about a light gray or silvery theme?

Blue snowy theme?

Brown deer theme

3 tones of same color for gingham effect to match someones kitchen

See? The ideas are endless.
Makes a very easy cute gift for a neighbor or friend
(My kitchen is black gingham, just sayin lol)
I have even made other coordinating items to make a bigger gift

Potholders, decorated towels, placemats, napkins, hot trivets are just a few ideas.

Throw in a layered jar cookie mix
Or a fav bread mix.
Nice gift, useful, easy and not too bad on the purse either.
A win win all around.

Quilt it up and bind and put in the gift box.
Doesnt that feel good?

Quilt show part 3

Love these colors

This one is pretty too

A fun pumpkin

Dresdan flower

Great color in this one

Who doesnt love a house quilt?

I am a sucker for a gorgeous applique quilt

So so pretty

This was only the first two rows.......so much inspiration in pattern and color

Good day to sleep

This guy slept all day yesterday

And had to be touching me.
Whenever I moved, he moved.
He is lucky he is cute

Trying to regroup for the month.
I need one more fox
(Extras will be fine for a quilt later)

These strings are waiting to play too.
They would make a cool border.
Hmmm.... maybe I need to look for a panel in my stash with these colors.

I am thinking of cutting out the fox and getting those done.

Green binding and done.

We will see.....

jelly roll day

Like normal
Others like jelly rolls
I like bagels lol
I sewed borders and cornerstones on the tree table topper even though it was jelly roll day

Now to find a backing and quilt er up

The rest of the day was filled with groceries and housework and laundry
You know......fun stuff  NOT

but I did post a few oldie but goodie pics to face book
So much negative out there i figured it would be fun
And entertaining.

Lol

My Aunt drove our bus
My cousin on the left
My brother Chuck Alicias Dad in the center
And me on the end.

Funny I remember that dress. I must have worn it out

Wish I still had my lunchbox though

Do you have old pics you can surprise people with?

Foxy lady

Its jelly roll day
But I am sewing Christmas gifts
So these foxes got quilted

Love them so now to trim up and cut one more and get quilted
