Oh boy not again

As I was cleaning i came across more parts

I had just seen the frankenbag and thouhht hmmmm

I mean look at all these good parts

Just sitting

Waiting to be something fun

So whats a girl to do?

Why sew

And join

Edward scissorhand style if too long cut it off 

 Wait till you see the panels i came up with

Now to quilt and trim and sew the bag

A chicken potholder for fun out of one of those books i got

He is sooooooo cute

Just needs his eyes attached

With a pieplate or brownie pan and mix

Wrapped with wooden spoons

He is so funky and cute i may need to make more

I used insulbrite and 1 layer batting

He used up a little scrap too

As i quilt and  clean up i have been making little quilted pieces

Then when i have leftover binding  i will bind them up

Friday finish

A little quilted coin pouch

Hey a finish is a finish  right?

Saw a gorgeous frankenbag i want ro try

They had a 17x17 square with 2.5 cut out of the 2 bottom ends

Used up bits, geese, crunb block, ufo block etc and what a gorgeous tote

I have tons of bits and bobs that would make great bags

Hmmmm.  She also used lining fabric and frankenbatt. Hence the name 

If you color coordinate what a gorgeous bag you can make

Hmmmm.  Christmas gift bags

Skaters away....slide glide and sway

Here is my ice skating block

We had a pond that we could walk to from our house and we would skate till we saw my Dads truck coming around the corner

Then we would skate as fast as we could thru the woods across from our house to beat him home

9 times out of 10 he would be standing in the driveway watching us walk with our skates across the dirt road

We were told in firm voice how fed up he was of sharpening our skates

Fun times

No time to take off skates when you are racing a truck lol

 

So much to do and helper is sleeping

Weaving in and out

 

Been a crazy weekend 

Not much sewing got done

Henri was scheduled to be a pain so everything had to be secured

Extra cooking was done

Extra groceries were bought

Henri decided we were PREPARED so he veered off toward PA

 Not a problem 

I just didnt get to do my regularly scheduled program 

BUT as I was preparing i looked down and saw these

Fugured they were just three leafs tangled 

Nope

Was 2 five leaf clovers and 17 four leaf clovers

They are pressing in a book do I can mount them on paper to put in a wallet

Princess pine anyone

Wreath block

As kids we used to walk in the woods and pick princess pine to make wreaths 

A fun memory at Christmastime 

So many more blocks to make

Raccoon, skate, horse, tractor,truck

Wonder if it will ever get done

This cutie goes with the deer pillow and placemat set

The hardest part is finding backing that is kinda muted

My stash is mostly smaller than a fat quarter lol

Will quilt this up and get er done

I love these quilted pillows with envelope back

Easy to make

Easy to clean 

A win....win

Can I find something cute

 for pillows for sis??? 

Hmmmmmm.......

Maybe theme it with a scented yankee candle

Like apples and apple candle

Or holiday pillow and spruce candle or bayberry

Non woven Monday

Remember i told you about an ice cream gift basket?

Here is the cone non drip pattern for pointy cones

You use terry and pretty fabric

The template is a cd case

Yep a cd case

Cut one terry and one pretty fabric from cd template

Those inexpensive washcloth bundles are perfect for these 

Place right sides together and sew leaving opening to turn 

Clip edges

Turn right side out and topstitch 1/4 from edges

Fold over and stitch that bottom edge to make cone shape

Voila

Pretty ice cream drip stoppers

The top rolls down as your cone getsshorter too

Makes a nice set 

Add in freeze pop holders to keep hands from getting cold, 

And pint size bowl made like micro bowl only for ice cream pints

Add in jimmies

Fancy long spoons for ice cream floats

Sundae toppings

Hot fudge etc

Nuts

Jar cherries

And you have a great gift

These whip up so fast once cut

And we all have fabric scraps thst size for sure

Keep some in bag in car for those trips to ice cream places

Some near pool.who wants to be hot and sticky too

Some in house

Make them for everywhere i kid you not

Once you use them you will wonder how you lived without them

Throw in wash and good to go again

Made these many years ago and used when nieces were small

They thought they were big shots with cones instead of  cups

Next one is a fox for the pair

Then bear brother will just need binding on matching placemats for his home in Maine

He is supposed to be closing on a 5 acre piece in October so these will nicely decorate his new home

He is the one who just had his baby daughter married.....Alicia the oldest married 2 years ago. Brittany is the wedding I couldnt make it to. But the girls all sent pics and videos as it was happening

Have I said how I love my nieces?????

Need ideas for foxes to finish off other brothers gift.he has the 2 fox pillows i made earlier this year out of tapestry placemats 

He already has fox mugrugs from last year

Will look around and see what can finish off his gift 

Then 3rd brother is deer quilt to finish

And then need idea for sister

May cave and do yankee candle again this year. Last year did 2 i think with table topper.

Who knows.this may end up the year of the pillow lol

The next farmgirl memory is making wreaths and picking princess pine in the woods

The green border has a metallic gold in it

Found these lovely fall fabs in a charm pack

And the potholder book as i was straightening up

I need to keep all my books and patterns in one spot

Anywho with short work i made the hst and found a brown 5.5 square and then cut the body and sewed to a dryer sheet to applique on

I just need his eye. Beak and wattle and can hand applique them on

Then quilt and bind and a fall potholder is born

A fun little mail off gift too

Mine is more traditional colors than this funky turkey

But he is cute too

My body is facing the other way but thats ok

I still like him

I am tempted to sew my crumb oranges into pumpkins

I loved the year Jacky and i made runners and potholders and mugrugs

The selvage was gone so no clue the year and who made it

And 2 placemats face left, 2 face right

J just quilted wavy lines

Now they need binding

This is the back but not enough left to bind them

Any green or fall print should do i think

Or gold

I just have the 2 small squares to make into pillow size

Need to quilt them up once i find fabric

To coordinate

Cleaning out an area in my room i found these

A panel of 4 placemats

And enough for 2 pillows

And wildlife

And i found a green leaf print that works

So

Figured i need to quilt up these placemats

And make a pillow set for one brother
