Secret sewing

I did a little secret sewing this weekend
Grabbed some tiny ufo blocks
5 of them
Matched up an old fashiony print
Sewed them into a block
Backed in same fabric
Quilted it like crazy
Found scrappy binding that would go
And voila
An oversize mugrug
For my friend Jacky
Yeah.....
Jacky no blog now gotta blog friend
Just because......

Since i was on a roll.....i grabbed a pretty floral scrap and a black scrap. They looked good together
So made another......in a different size

See the quilting on the first one? About every half inch apart. Hey i know i am crazy....but it was 3 am and what else am i gonna do?
Vacuum??? Lol

This one i used my standard wavy lines

Love the floral

Have to tell ya
Excess zuchinni is a good thing
Or friends with zuchinni gardens

This was the other nights dinner
On the grill
A few minutes prep
And 20 on the grill were perfect

I took 2 zuchinni
Sliced in half the long way into boats
Scooped out the center
Saved some of it and chopped it small

Then browned hamburg, onion, the inside chopped squash, diced tomato i used fresh cherry tomatoes
I added fresh basil, fresh thyme
Garlic powder,celery seed, cracked pepper,
And cooked till meat was done and all flavors melded. Added a touch of ketchup
Taste tested.....then put my zuchinni boats on a pam sprayed foil
Stuffed them each with the mixture
Topped with shredded cheese
Folded the foil up in a packet
Placed it on a hot grill

And 20 min later dinner was done
And delish
And low carb
And healthy
And did i say it was SOOOOOOOOO good
Love freshness of summer veggies

This farmgirl is spoiled for sure

  1. Zucchini Boats - made those the other day. Getting some peppers from one of the class gals Monday - stuffed peppers will fill the freezer.
