Did anyone make a cup last week?
If so, did it become a mugrug?
A potholder?
Something else?
This week i will show you how making little things through the year can end up a great gift
I kind of start out with odds and ends
A knitted dish cloth
An applique towel
Magnets, shopping list pad
A potholder
A basket, cookie mix, spatulas and before long i have a great theme basket.
I build on a theme whether it is Santa
Or kitchen
Or some of the recipients favorite things
Add goodies like milano cookies or ferraro rocher candy etc.
Decorate with ornaments for the tree or a holiday green floral pick
Each year i think i wont have enough deer or bear ideas and another one comes along
For example bear eat salmon. There is a card game called happy salmon i got.
My brothers will have fun in the hunting cabin playing it when its too dark to be in the woods
See? Perfect. .......if you look at things differently you can make a perfect basket gift and by making or gathering items along the way the pocketbook isnt hit all at once.
Red truck lover? Great panels out there to use
Or make a wteath and find ornaments in red truck to decorate
Easy peasy and so pretty
Take a fav picture and have a gift made
This one made my Dad cry last year and he is not usually emotional
This was the funny element I came across when shopping. It was a silly 5 dollar item that made the hunting brothers laugh
These were fun fish potholders
With batiks all kinds of fun to make
Red truck pillow cover
See? Just build on a theme, make it fun and geared to the recipient
My boss liked the pineapple runner i made so making her one.
She also likes ferraro rocher
I have seen where they glue the candy to make a pineapple. I think it is a bottle of wine as the base
So a bottle of wine, candy and table topper.
Wrapped with maybe some dried pineapple snack etc will be an affordable gift for me to give and a gift she will like.
No breaking the bank
The presentation will make the gift
Anyone know where i can find a pineapple tin for the dried fruit? Lol
Your free lesson in making great gift baskets
And dont overlook places like the dollar store for your basket or container. A sleek black one dollar plastic container can be more elegant and useful than a 10 dollar basket
Remember......

My maintenance man in the park gets a coffeeshop giftcard
Some fav pepperridge farms cookies
Some k cups or flavored coffees
Candied nuts etc
He loves it
For one niece this year i am trying to see if i can form her gifts into a red teuck
She loves ribbon candy, an old fashioned treat. That can be the truck bed wrapped in Kraft paper
The tailgatw can be her giftcard in a giftcard box also wrapped in Kraft.
The wheels can be round tins of candy or mints wrapped in black paper
The cab i will play with wrapped in red solid paper
Her real gift is the giftcard but the presentation says she is special to me
I will look for candy or cakes packaged in the shapes i need. Hmmm that lifesaver book size may be perfect for the truckbed.
Debbie tree cakes in the bed of the truck with a couple bottle brush trees will let her know it is the red truck.
Cute and fun
Have fun and make some cool gifts!
I guarantee your recipient will remember it long after
