Drafted up this guy for the runner

Not perfect

The brown body is too long but that's ok

Thinking of making him on m point for the center area of the runner so he looks like he is flitting

Kinda like this maybe

That Robin may end up in here too for fun

I made a trade

This was on New Years Day

I go well i sewed a little and now cleaning my cupboards of extra stuff.

why

She goes I am cleaning too.

A bunch of 2.5 squares are in a box on the porch

Come get em if you want them 

Guess what I did

Yep

I packed up those groceries faster than a bagger told they can go home after your order

And

I traded that extra foodstuff for quilt squares 

Hey a gals gotta do what a gals gotta do.

Hmmm

Wonder if I should clean my closets next?

Lol

A fun little project

Who out there is making gifts for Christmas?

I see.....how many of you run out of ideas?

Uh huh......yep 

How about a cute table runner?

Grab some Christmas fabric and lets go.

I used up some 5 inch charms I had

And cut them down to 2.5 squares

My fav size to play with

I sewed rows of 6 of them together

Twelve rows to be exact 

Then found fabric in my stash that coordinated and cut two end squares 

Sew them up and voila

A table runner top is born 

See how cute and fun?

If you have a container of 2.5 squares like I do, You could have fun pulling reds and greens

Or how about a light gray or silvery theme?

Blue snowy theme?

Brown deer theme

3 tones of same color for gingham effect to match someones kitchen

See? The ideas are endless.

Makes a very easy cute gift for a neighbor or friend

(My kitchen is black gingham, just sayin lol)

I have even made other coordinating items to make a bigger gift

Potholders, decorated towels, placemats, napkins, hot trivets are just a few ideas. 

Throw in a layered jar cookie mix

Or a fav bread mix.

Nice gift, useful, easy and not too bad on the purse either.

A win win all around.

Quilt it up and bind and put in the gift box.

When I cant take out a project

But  I  am itching to sew 

I play with my 1.5 squares 

This is my postage stamp quilt start from that play

I got white charms 2.5 and some 5 inch squares  to cut down

They play nice together

Eventually I will have my quilt

No rush

Just relaxing sewing reminiscing what project this fabric came from

Where this fabric was purchased etc

Then of course

YOU KNOW I HAVE TO VEER OFF COURSE

good thing I dont drive for a living huh

I decided to see how would blue tiny 4 patch with blue 2.5 would look

Hmmm.  Not too bad

Looks like a future totebag to me

And i played with another fox too

He needs to be quilted up

And more friends cut out

Not bad for stolen playtime...

Its national sewing month 

A...acorn......B...bad....lol

I KNOW.......

but what if you cant sleep

And your mind is racing with everything you need to do 

And the stupid water pills kick in and wake you up

4 hours after you go to bed........Ughhhhhh 

I didnt have shower favor ingredients ...

I didnt feel like painting....

So what's a girl to do ?

CHASE SQUIRRELS AND MAKE AN ACORN 

now I need lights which will need to be cut

And then another acorn for the other end

And a cute runner will be born

I love my 2.5 squares already cut and ready to sew 

My container didnt look like I had any browns but it did......

Browns and beiges and even some yellows made it in there

I then played with teeny strips that were headed for the trash

Hmmmm

Maybe a cute little pincushion

I will be playing with rolls and rolls of cellophane this weekend

Once niece brings me the labels

So at 1 am I saw these 1.5 squares

And these 2.5 squares

And decided to play
