The great thing about having squares already cut is that you can use them right away.
I saw a mugrug on kevin the quilters blog
Years ago
But what if?
What if instead of 1 1/2 inch squares I use 2 1/2 inch squares?
Hmmmm
How big will it be?
What can I make?
Well........
Gather or cut fifteen green 2 1/2 squares
And one brown one.
Then sew 2 together
3 together
4 together
And 5 together for the tree section.
Out of backgound cut 2 1/2 inch strips
4 pcs 8 1/2
2 pcs ea of 7 1/2
6 1/2
5 1/2
And 4 1/2
Put the largest ones aside for now. Sew the row of 5 green with the 4 1/2 backround to each end
Sew the 4 green to the 5.5 backgrounds
The 3 green to the 6.5 backgrounds
The 2 green to the 7.5 backgrounds
And the single brown. And the single green each with the pair of 8.5 backgrounds
Sew the rows to make the tree.
Add the 2 largest ones to both top and 2 to the bottom and you have a table topper
Get a backing.....batting....quilt it....bind it....
Another cute holiday gift....a tree table topper
You could fussy cut squares with ornaments among the greens...
A star for the top
Do a silver one on a blue background
Anything goes.
Have fun..........
Mine isnt quilted yet. Giving my eye a little rest
Hmmm.......what can I make next for the gift box??????
Stay tuned
Very cute.
