Another 6 inch block

Going thru my saved patterns i spied this cutie

An acorn

We have plenty of oaks on the farm so it is perfect for my farmgirl quilt

The pattern was from 2016

Not sure if still available ot not 

But i can hook you up.   Wink wink

And if you are the 12 inch type i think it can easily be figured out

For 6 inch my acorn blocks were 1.5

For a 12 inch i am thinking 2.5 would work

 Love this block.it was easy once i cut pieces

I did it row by row to keep it straight.

Lots to do

Got these flags to plop in the garden

These are growing in between the sedum but i dont dare move this beauty

Every year it is more beautiful

I really need to paint the wishing well

What color? Not sure

Should i go with gray on the bottom and a charcoal gray roof?

A brown to stand out from the house?

I am no good with that stuff

So many little projects needing  to be done 

Steps need painting

Screenroom screen needs replacing 

This needs paint

Water tank needs flushing and a blanket

Bathroom ceiling needs redoing

Lights need to be fixed by electrician

Farmgirl Wed

This is from Loris Christmas book

My Aunt Lil used to ring a bell to call us in for lunch if we were playing outside

Fond memory on the farm

And milkcans

We raised a beef cow not a milker

We shared it with my uncle and in the Fall the cow became roasts and hamburg for our large family

More farmgirl fun.

I am loving the truck block

And trying to see how the 12 inch size can be used

All my blocks are 6 inch so far

 

Isnt Tues finish day?

Boy is my schedule messed up

Tuesday is supposed to be for finishing projects

Instead i am starting more  and more

Ughhhhhh

Gotta buckle down, find backing and batting and get these done

Sorry i am not a photographer  but it is rows of puff stitches joined with lacy stitch in between and around edges

Very very pretty and easy too

My load here has increased with Rich not being able to get out of bed much 

He is struggling and i may need to quit working to take care of him

I still have ten or so years to work to collect max benefits if they even exist then

Whoda thunk in my lifetime we would have senior citizens working to make ends meet

Its sad

 

Woven Monday work

Cutting for woven blocks 

Will have to see where i am so far

I may need lighter ones like yellow and light green

Right now just cutting and sewing them

 

Busy around here

My herbs have been growing faster than i can keep up

I put mint in my lemonwater every day but the pot is overflowing 

So i am drying some

I air dry them on paper towels and turn them to get all sides

In about 2 or 3 weeks they will be dry enough to put in a jar

The basil is growing too so it also is drying

My sewing room smells so good ha ha

Its one of the few rooms i can lock Dunkin out of 

And rosemary too

I will need to get more of those little jars to keep them in

I used up all the basil from last year already

Even though its dried it still has more flavor than store bought

Its fresher

Do you grow herbs?

I didnt get all I wanted but will use what I have 

 
 

Things i collected

I never crafted with these

But

The shabby tree last year put her gifts in white or brown bags with a doily at the top and clipped these on for the name

They were adorable and so easy

For a dollar you get 4

Not bad in todays economy right?

See? They have mini clothespin clips on back

And this pretty piece needs to be something cute

Maybe even just a mugrug all feminine like

Playing again

I like playing in the crumbs

I make largish blocks

Then i cut into 9.5 inch blocks

I envision surrounding them in white jelly strips

Like them so far

I have about 7 i think

Maybe more

 And this is on the list to do 

Ut oh Thursday

With all my starts off my list lately i guess i was getting lax

I let myself start something else

I was perusing a book and saw something similar to this

A table runner with either pumpkins or apples appliqued on each end

I knew i had a box  of sample Homespun squares  

I cut 10 background squares at 6 inches

And sewed them up

Now to draw an apple and applique it on

Pink lady apple perhaps with the pinkish red plaid?

Sewed more 1.5 squares to make a boxed zip bag

And had just enough of both of these to make a bag too

Measurement? The top was as wide as the bottom and icut the piece in half for the measurement 

Real professional like you know

Now when i get pieces of batting i will quilt em up

Just in time for July 4th

Hubs was eyeballing it...he loves anything patriotic as his brother served in Vietnam

Sooooooo. These are going to be two placemats 

One for me and one for hubs

I love the colors so vibrant and bright

And lookie what is ready to quilt

OMG Julie it was soooo fun

I cut it out in the morning

Sewed it in the afternoon 

Hardest part....deciding on fabric 

I love the way this print almost looks continuous between pieces

And the red pops for the bow 

Love it...... if I finish quilting.....another Christmas gift.    YAY
