I need to  pair ufos with panels to see if I can get some lap quilts done

I really need the dollar store foam boards made into a design wall so I can play

Labor day weekend is coming up and I want to make a quick top

I had an idea

The more I find ufos 

The more I cringe

Can I live to 150 to finish them all?

These blue hst were going to be a zigzag quilt 

BUT

I got an idea in my head

I must have 20 or more panels I need to use

Can I make 5 lap quilts in time for  the holidays?

I think I can solve with solid red squares

Switching it up

Found more 1.5 strips

So cut into 3.5 lengths and made these

Five more in the bucket 

I need quite a few so every little but helps

Tuckered out

I had been given by the big boss a $100 gift card to Michael's 

Actually 2 of them 

One says 2018 on the card and one 2020.

The 2020 one I get with covid etc I was going nowhere just to shop if not needed

The other one I must have hidden well

So I called to see if they deduct or expire and I think I will go shopping as the full value is there

My lucky day huh 😒

 

Coupons

Does anyone still use coupons?

It seems they are all digital now too

My phone memory unfortunately is like my memory lol

I don't think I could download some apps

But my niece years ago made me cry when she made me this purse/notebook/coupon tote

It is a 3 ring binder covered in upholstery weight fabric

Inside are pockets for pens and notepad for list and place to put coupons you will be using st the register

And plenty of those sectioned baseball card type inserts

They hold the coupons well

The tabs are labeled so if for example I am in the snack aisle I can look and see if I have that cookie or chip coupon to see if the price would be something I am willing to pay

A little sewing

I couldn't sleep and was up at 2

I started laundry to get ahead for later

Then cut and sewed these 3 tree blocks

Hmmmm 

If I do 3 a day I can put the top together soon

Better push right

This is such a pretty fall quilt that I can cuddle with when the Temps dip down

Are you sewing fall  projects?

I took tomorrow off and am hoping to get some things done

Need to plant more trees

These were my blocks a bit ago

I struggled with the band of green that to me doesn't blend

I have made a few more

And will continue to

Not sure if  I  will rearrange them again

I probably will

I figure I need to make about 40 more bloxks

Mine will be lap size

Someone is already testing to see if he can claim it

I think I will cut a bunch and sew them up

Then try and arrange them

They all need pressing and trimming too

I will take the smallest block and match to that

Feeling a little insecure

This guy has been so good as I can every waking minute to finish my work

Tomatoes roll in

Squash rolls in

I need to preserve what I am able in order to share and cut costs

But I guess today he is showing me that he wants attention too

Feet touching mine so he knows where I am

Last night I canned 4 jars tomatoes and made 6 stuffed peppers 

4 peppers are for neighbors

The others I will eat

Pumpkin spice muffins, zuchinni bread, stuffed peppers

Smells so good in here 

 

Tomatoes done

On Friday my friends and I lucked out

Because they are taking 2 weeks off they had a ton of stuff

Imagine 6 ears corn for a dollar

Tomatoes 5 in bag for a dollar

I bought I think 3 bags of tomatoes and my friends got some too

Then my friend spent the afternoon with me learning how to can

Found am Amush recipe for stewed tomatoes in waterbath and made 3 jars

The rest of the tomatoes were just tomatoes

So fun

We had some music on and were just having a good time

These were some of the tomatoes we started with

Aren't they beautiful?

Now they are ready for summer tasting all winter

We will split the bounty 3 ways so we each get a jar of stewed tomato and 2 just tomatoes

My brother in Maine asked if I want more veggies when my other brother comes up

Of course I do!!!!

Next up some stuffed peppers will be frozen for future meals

Smells good in here lol

Nourishment

My mom's zuchinni pineapple recipe for breads and muffins

Yummy

And this was dinner last night 

Taco casserole

Doritos crushed on bottom of 13x9

Then taco meat mixed with jar salsa and drained can corn

Add 1 cup shredded cheddar and heat till melted

Pour meat mix over doritos

Put 1 cup or to your liking cheese on top and bake 350. 15 to 20 min till melted.

Take out and add cold toppings of choice

Lettuce,tomatoes,black olives etc

Soooo yummy and easy to prep

Love meals like that

Today is tomato canning day with a friend

Should be fun

 

Getting out some things

And need to start decorating to make things more cheerful

My vacation was somewhat productive

Here is onion jelly and a few jars of onion jam to flavor up the holidays

I just love looking at the jars all filled with goodness

And I got a new sewing room clock so I don't stay too long sewing before work

 

Cranberry shortage

For those who may not be thinking of the holidays just yet 

There is a cranberry shortage this year due to the weather

I am getting a few cans for the holidays and for winter chicken dinners

A public announcement for you all as we live very close to cranberry country here

Maybe more of this will be on my holiday menu

Is there an alcohol shortage????
