A little of this and that

I was cutting and cleaning one little area so decided to sew these 3 up for my switchplate quilt

A little more progress made

Then pumpkin blocks just need stems

Maybe they will get bordered with this fabric

Not sure if I want to make a fall quilt

Or runner

Or placemats

I will finish the stems but put them aside for now

I have 2 thankful runners to do and a dog quilt that moved to the top of the list

No veggies today

Brother coming from Maine with some I think

He was supposed to be here Tues so I never went last week either

We will see.....I may be making apple pie this weekend

Its a dogs world

I finished the top of the dogs quilt

Little by little I sewed

I tried something new with the black border

It was short so I improvised with the corners 

I like it

Now to iron. Layer and quilt er up

Cooler mornings

It's been cooler here in the mornings

I have not put the heat on

This guy was all snuggled in his blanket the other day

Then got hot and just laid on top

My little munchkin

I need to cut and sew up more then put them out so I can see how it's coming

I only seem to have 36 blocks

I figure I need about 10 across by 9 down maybe

I have a ways to go

I thought I had more but who knows

Maybe they are mingling with my stash

Dog quilt

This is a new project

A friend's sister got a yorkie puppy. She wanted to gift her with a little quilt

I had these in the stash

So added a border of 2.5 squares

In colors similar 

I like it but it needs another border

Am thinking black with cornerstones

How cute is this flannel for a backing

I am hoping for a finish soon

Almost a finish

I am sewing binding FINALLY on this couch quilt

Yep a quilt for ME

it was a snowball quilt I had started after Julierose had started one

Not sure if a Pat Sloan quilt along or what

But I took my blues and made the snowballs

Paired then with white and made a small couch quilt

My new curtains are a navy color so it will look nice

Trying to get things together for the holidays

A woman's work is never done, right?????

 

All i want for christmas

This was a wreath brother gave me one year

This was Dunks dreaming of a white Christmas

He was so good

For a bit anyway until he figured out how much fun it is to batt the ornaments 

Last year's gorgeous wreath from brother

The white doves now I know we're an angel sign saying they were coming for Richard

I believe the doves represented Jackie who passed in Feb and Rich in Dec same year

I need to find border and backing for this to finish it

I want to give it to my friend as a hostess gift for Thanksgiving

I still need to make one of these

I just love it

And it represents Richs love of the beach

I know it's still Sept but Christmas is really just around the corner

The days here already feel like October November weather

And I am hosting Christmas for 6 neighbors who would be alone like me 

Hopefully we can have s great day

Thankful time of year

I am thinking for my friend hosting Thanksgiving

I need borders on this one then hoping to find just plain muslin in the stash to back them both and quilt

It was for my table but I kinda like the way it dresses up my couch

Panel time

I saw this panel

And fell in love

I found it and bought the last 2

I guess it's out of print

I was so excited to see one of the coordinating prints so bought it too

The only had 2 yes but had this pumpkin one as well

One is elegant

The other more whimsical

Love them both

I am making for a dear friend

Who is going through a lot

She has her whole house in fall year round

One for her one for me

I am hoping to get these grapes behind me soon So i can get other things done

They have taken way too much of my time lately for two whole weeks

Clean, juice,can to make jelly later

Non quilty days lately

This morning I cut up my tomatoes and made a sauce for dinner

I will  cook pasta and use this on it

Tomatoes, onion, garlic, parsley, basil and thyme 

Smells good in here

I want pasta for breakfast lol

These still face me

Tons and tons of grapes 🍇

I decided I will make the juice and can it

Then later as I have time can make more jelly

The jelly i made I gave to the 2 people who provided the grapes 

The next batch is mine

Been busy here

Ever think there is a cloud over you?

Got bjs credit card

Took 2 months to activate

Then when the lady at the desk activated it she said she was giving me 5 percent off my purchase that day for the trouble 

Sweet or so it sounded

All of a sudden I get a new card in the mail

An upgraded one with a yearly fee 

Of 156

Um nope.. not doing it

AND the paperwork with it says they can sell my info and I can't opt out 

I DON'T THINK SO

so Dawnie has a fight on her hands to straighten it out

That card can go where the sun don't shine if you know what I mean

Then getting drivers license is a nightmare

My computer died

Need appointment online

Called. Can't get anyone

So went in person 

Was lucky I had my paperwork he took me and squeezed me in

I am now legal again

Why is everything these days so darned difficult

Nobody wants to do their job or help you out. It's awful

And I got a package I ordered of coffee

First email when I ordered said 58 bucks

Cool. Said delivery between the 8th and 12th

Yesterday tge 13th I get an email saying delivery will be made but price is changed to 180 bucks!!!!

Isn't this a bait and switch 

I give up

The devil is surely working overtime these days

One almost done

This top has been done forever

It was ufo blocks and sampler blocks and I bordered them in green

Backed in red

A little lap quilt

I had even purchased a ufo block 

How silly is that

Just sewing down binding and will be ready to keep someone warm

My idea of 5 quilts has been nixed 

Friends don't want to feel obligated to buy gifts which is ok

Times are tough I get it

I may finish them anyway and in January when it's cold gift them randomly

We will see

 

End of the garden

I picked some basil to dry and a lonely tomato

I think this about wraps up my garden

Not much else growing here now

But I am thankful for what I have put up for the winter

God is good

And takes care of our needs

For this I am thankful

 

First batch of jelly

This batch of jelly was done yesterday before work

I know.but I was up at 140 and couldn't sleep

So I processed 4 cups of the juice into 6 small jars of jelly

Sweet

And  its delicious

Tonight is veggie night and then I hope to process more

I think i broke it

My Lil Ole singer wyg 6oas humming along when I heard CLUNK

UT oh not Good so I took my quilt out

And pulled out the Bobbin. There is a thread wrapped tightly around the Bobbin case. I tried and tried to no avail and can't get it out. The guy I normally take my machine to had a triple bypass and is slowly retiring from fixing machines

I got two rows of quilting done on my project. Ughhh. Tons to go for sure

Better set up another machine I guess. I had wound a ton of bobbins too. Figures huh

I guess I am supposed to do something else.

But I gotta get busy and process them into juice and jam

The trees will be expanding

This came the other day

Dunkin and I have both ordered things so I didn't think anything of it 

UNTIL I realized it was from Julierose 

Yes THE Julierose we all know and love 

She sent me a happy package 

To help the trees along 

I mean look at a lot this fun  fabric

Lots of tree possibilities in here

 I can't wait to cut some out and get going again
