No project always goes smooth

I added red borders to my topper

I like it with white cornerstones

But..........

The backing fits on one side and is way short on the other

So...........

Enter creative brain

I will do a slash and add a strip to the backing of greens. Whites and reds

It will widen it

And will make the back interestng too

 

 

Getting things done

This project took longer than i expected but not for the reasons i thought

I looked at the directions and went huh?

But the directions were more confusing than the building of it

What took long is i must have laughed a half hour

Why you ask?

Because as i was attaching the white bars Dunkin would walk under them like it was his personal limbo game

I was cracking up

Here its done

Tonight i have a second one to do

Hoping with wet and snow etc it will help save on dryer use

His placemat is finished but he thinks its a bed

I didnt have the heart to tell him it wasnt lol

I think this is the next small project

I kinda like a red border on it dont you?

I have not had much of interest to show on here. Been busy organizing, fixing things, throwing out or giving away things

Hoping i can relax a little and sew more soon

Its been a really tough year for me. My Jacky i miss so much, of course i miss my husband, and my new friends just dropped off the face of the earth. No reason just we cant be friends. One day we were planning christmas dinner the next we cant be friends.

Not sure why. Said it was her not me so thinking there are things i dont know about but i feel more alone than ever. 

My sister in law is a godsend.she calls cause she knows i need to hear a human voice. I am thankful for her. I have become more independent. My freezer is full my pantry is full and so far i still have a job.all is well. 

God has blessed me in many ways and i am grateful.

Hoping to be able to work on the topper soon and get back in the saddle

Almost a finish

This was for Dunks for Christmas

But with everything that was going on here it didnt get done

So now its almost done

Just hand sewing the binding

And he will have a new placemat

Trying to keep the finishing momentum going

Have a 2 yr old birthday party in feb

And baby shower in mar

The baby shower i may need to help niece as her mom is not good at this sort of thing

She ordered 2 pizzas and a salad for a party of 40.......ugh

So auntie needs to rescue my twenty something niece for a successful showet

The theme is baby woodland

And breakfast brunch menu

Moms quilt

I found this beauty while putting away Christmas

A quilt my mom made

She has been gone since 1989 and this was about 5 or so years before that

Sunbonnet sue and sam

One niece wants it

She never met my mom but as a 2 year old would say to us Grammy says she loves me

I think she feels a conection to her

She will have it cleaned as there are spots of an unknown origin to see if they can get out

This was an old project in a baggie

I love how the way you cut it they look like different fabrics

I remember playing with this fab

Each block spurned on

 the next

So different

Yet the same

A runner was made

Now to find a border back and binding

And this just needed thelabel

Now done

From my moms stash

2023 is looking promising

Drip no more

This faucet dripped constantly

Told my brother from Maine about it on Christmas

The day after he texted me

Are you home or bargain shopping?

I am home

K i will be over

He,my Dad and one other brother came over tools in hand to fix it

They couldnt get parts for it because its old

So they went to Home Depot

Bought a new faucet

And installed it

When i asked to pay for the faucet they told me it was ten bucks a Christmas special

They were always fibbers as kids lol

They wouldnt let me pay

Merry Christmas to me!

One nagging project done

 

Hard day

Today is a difficult day

Last year was the first Christmas without Rich

But with his death 5 days prior i dont even remember it

I miss this beautiful man

No more hugs and kisses

Or protecting me

Or dancing to our song

No more advice

No more how was your day honey

Death sucks

I am thankful for the times we had

They are engraved in my heart

This guy misses him too

Today he needs extra cuddles

And i am happy to oblige

Will i ever find Christmas joy again?

I tried so hard this year

I was going to cook for my new friends

And thought the diversion would help

But due to things beyond my control it will not happen

Lost hubby, lost friends so a little sadder and more lonely around here

But i have God as my rock and he will help me through

Someday peace will come to my heart
