Slow moving around here

 

When I was going to work on a minus 6 degree morning this is what I found

He has t h e right idea for sure

I bent to kiss him and he was like just let me be

Lil booger!

This was the only sewing I could muster

I had made panels of 1.5 scraps 

Added pink strip top and bottom

Quilted it

And made a bag

Then put binding on this one

So happy a finish

Just need to put a label on back

Other side of my bag

I love using my scraps 

It's like a challenge to myself

What can you become

Bag?

Potholder?

Placemats?

Quilted clothing?

It's fun to wonder and create

What's happening in your sewing room????

Flowers on the farm

We grew strawflowers on the farm

Sat and Sunday we could be found on a blanket on the front lawn wiring up the flower heads to give them stems

Another memory from the farm

Another 12 inch block

I think for the first quilt I need  8. Twelve inch blocks

I think I now have four

Flower, bunny, canning jar and hatching chick's

4 to go

Then more 6 inch blocks

Thinking tractor, truck maybe, horse, crow

But Some with many pieces so will see

Progress made though......

 

Quick ufos to finish

This chicken potholder was started with Jackie as a challenge 

We each found a pattern and fab and cut them out

Hers was done asap

Mine took a back seat to life

I unearthed it again while looking for something

And decided it would be a cute Easter chicken surprise for bear brothers kitchen

Just needs button eyes sewn

DUH what was I thinking???

A mini version of my big one for my bed

Big ones unearthed that need to join the rest

I need to see where it stands to finish the top

Found treasures

While um cleanjng.....moving things around.......straightening up I found this treasure

12 blocks sewn using scrap 4 patches in centers

And a jelly roll line of brights for borders

In aqua, black, hot pink, orange etc

If I border the blocks in a white jelly roll

Put 3 x 4 blocks down

It would be 32 x 42? 

I think

These are 8 inch finish

Or......

I could make 8 inch blocks for between

For 40 x 56 is

If my math is correct  maybe some 8 inch planned blocks would do.

Ufo play

I started to make my pieces match in size with strips  

So I could sew them together

Yeah a little purple jellytoll strip tucked here and there

It's all good

Making 2 big pieces about 21 inches by 25 or so

And trying to keep in mind the center has a huge pocket that will cover it

So put your ugliest  front and center

If you want to make one I will give you measurements I am using 

I figure I can probably use jelly strips for handles too

Will see as I go

If you wanna play grab those unloved blocks and   

fabrics 

Heck even jelly strips work

Project started with a few blocks but list interest?

Clean em out and play

Color coordinate if you want

Mine will be willy nilly

Ufo work

Added more to my ufo piece for the bag

I am making the piece larger than 21x25 as it will be quilted and trimmed to 21x25

A front and back are needed

So piece 2 is in process too

Then I will iron. Quilt and cut to size 

Lining will be cut same size

I like the bag already
