Trees

Dunks decided his quilt will have a Christmas feel
So he added 2 inch squares in red and green for borders

I think he did a good job, do you?

His tree looks like it's in a snowball with the dual colored lights

And my Fall theme tree quilt

His came out bigger because I only used 1.5 squares
But that's ok

It's an improv project

There will be a plain "rest" border before  the next one

Thinking the next border has to bring in a color not used in it so far

Fun so far and painlessly simple

And ideas for colors or next border?

I am thinking triangles somewhere

Maybe gold in Dunkins

Maybe green in mine?

The possibilities are endless

Corner stars with low volume border

Mini acorns

Mini leaves

Small log cabin blocks

Making this block the center of another like a churn dash

Or star

Hoping I will have a lap size  by Fall

Tree round 2

Make a border

I thought about mine and
Wanted to keep a fall colored theme going

Round 2 was fall colored 1.5 squares

I like it

Now to sew it on and then see what direction Dunks Is going in

I think he wanted Christmas

Hmmmm
We will see

Two trees

This is the tree I settled on
A FALL tree
Improv style
Cut to a 7 inch square that will finish 6.5

I like it

Dunkins tree
Is also improv and 7 inches

Step one of the trees are done

On to the next step

I made these really easy in just a couple minutes to show they don't have to be difficult

Have fun if you are joining along
That's the point of quilting

Do you have a tree?

Dunks decided....me not so much

Dunks chose a pretty charm square to start

The he grabbed a light piece and picked an angle and sewed

Repeated on other side

Now has this weird shape

Made a trunk piece

Will sew it on
Iron
And cut a square for his tree

Cute

Meanwhile I am undecided

I like this thimbleberries tree

Or these

Oooooo that's nice too

If I only had tree fabric
So pretty

Anothershape
Hoping this squirrel brain can decide soon

Are you making a tree?
We want to see

Not sure if I can link you up but will try so we can all enjoy seeing them

Now what green?
Pea?
Chartreuse?
Olive?
Sage?
Forest?

Lime?

Decisions decisions

You have til April 24 to make a tree block
Any kind
Any size
Any color.... fall would be cool
Dunks will be small probably  6 or under
Mine I think 12 inch
Let's have fun

Seeing green

I am seeing green...
Salad?
Money? I wish

Nope trees
Mugrug trees

I need off white backgrounds
To finish this group
Once they are all quilted i can have a green binding session and get them done
Assembly line style

And this is the 2.5 square version for a table topper
I keep toying around with border..
No border

I think it needs something

Maybe a small border of a green like this?

What do you think?
Border ?
Or no border?

Gotta get going on these

I need to add a border to this
Something that i can incorporate into a pieced green border i think.
That will solve the problem of backing for this

Gre...eee...eeeee..ee..een
Green, green, green
Gre..eee...eeeee..ee..een
Green, green,green
When im with you.....

Oh wait....let me get out of song mode
Hee hee

And i need to cut more fox
And get them done
Assembly like style

Hmmmm
Wonder if i can draft a 6 inch bear????
That  would be cute

Fox and bear mugrugs for the cabin

If I can get these 2 brothers done
And sister done, that will be good

Gotta start making lists

Top priority family of course

Those pkg that need to be sent out early December
And go from there to see where I stand so far

Time is a tickin
Especially with  Nov wedding
Coming up

Leaves me with more shopping last minute
Ughhh

Do you do Christmas early?
Do you do handmade?
We have a big family and I like to give consumables and personal gifts

I haven't made ANY jam this year
I know my brothers hate shopping for the house so towels and useful items are always a hit.
Guys at work usually get a basket
With snacks and cookies and breads

We will see...
This year was hit with my eye issues and now being busy with shower and wedding.
