Drip no more

This faucet dripped constantly

Told my brother from Maine about it on Christmas

The day after he texted me

Are you home or bargain shopping?

I am home

K i will be over

He,my Dad and one other brother came over tools in hand to fix it

They couldnt get parts for it because its old

So they went to Home Depot

Bought a new faucet

And installed it

When i asked to pay for the faucet they told me it was ten bucks a Christmas special

They were always fibbers as kids lol

They wouldnt let me pay

Merry Christmas to me!

One nagging project done

 

Hard day

Today is a difficult day

Last year was the first Christmas without Rich

But with his death 5 days prior i dont even remember it

I miss this beautiful man

No more hugs and kisses

Or protecting me

Or dancing to our song

No more advice

No more how was your day honey

Death sucks

I am thankful for the times we had

They are engraved in my heart

This guy misses him too

Today he needs extra cuddles

And i am happy to oblige

Will i ever find Christmas joy again?

I tried so hard this year

I was going to cook for my new friends

And thought the diversion would help

But due to things beyond my control it will not happen

Lost hubby, lost friends so a little sadder and more lonely around here

But i have God as my rock and he will help me through

Someday peace will come to my heart

I am glad she has room to set up as it is so pretty and nostalgic

My friends sister didnt have a wreath

So i bought one and decorated it

The dog i painted on dollar store wood cutouts to imitate her puppy

A nice full bow to top it off

He is a hunter and I think this will tickle him

I had a vision and the proportions worked with what I had

That head is an amaryllis in a box

The antlers were large picks found at walmart

I was dancing 🕺 when I found them

The nose is an ornament

I like him

Christmas book

I got this book for my great granddaughter and one for my great neice

It is cute and funny

Reminds me of the fly that was eaten by  the frog and the frog was eaten by something else

I love to try and instill the love of reading when I can

We are all so happy for them 

They wanted a boy as there are all girls in the family

After the feast

I made these acorns out of Hershey kisses nutter butters and a chocolate chip

I was going to make cupcakes and put on top

This was breakfast the day after

Don't you just love holiday breakfast?

And Friday was spent cooking for tge week 

Turkey soup is done and sooooo good

I will share with the neighbors that had me over

We had the best day ever

I was there from 10 to 3 as we watched a movie

Great food. Great friends. Great time

I shredded this to make turkey casserole

With the shredded turkey you add cranberry sauce 

The next layer is mashed potatoes 

I instead did the turnip and squash

Then you add veggies. Corn etc that you had and gravy

The top is dressing and broth to keep moist

 Foil it and heat n serve.it is yummy so now we each have dinner for a few days this week and I still have turkey left

Sorry i have been mia

Sorry I have been missing in action.

It has been a tough year

I have been missing Rich and trying to find my new norm

Unfortunately I sometimes get numb and freeze which isn't good 

Then I find an unopened Christnas card hidden away from him signed love ya babe and I lose it

He hid it for me to find

I didn't find it last year but this Christmas I did

I am thankful for my family and friends and everyone checking on me

Sometimes I just need alone time and I am trying to make sure I don't become introverted

Instead I need to reassess my life  my goals and improve

And try to have fun along the way

I am trying to stay focused on projects that need attention

And trying to think of others too for the holidays

A huge to do list for sure

But know I am OK

And I will be back sewing soon

Thanksgiving I am making french dressing and a charcuterie board and going to my friends house

Then need quilts done and gift cards bought and meal planned for Christmas
